The Allies which is formally referred as the united nations were a coalition of countries that opposed the Axis powers during World War II. The main Allied powers which were also known as the Big Three were the:

  • United States
  • Soviet Union
  • United Kingdom

In 1942 there were 26 countries that signed the Declaration by United Nations, pledging to continue fighting against the Axis powers and to not make a separate peace. This declaration was the foundation of the modern United Nations.
