A bit about me

My name is Lewis (Also known as 0x4248) and I am a software developer and cyber security enthusiast. I am currently studying Computer Science as a student.

I currently live in southern England. I have many other hobbies including radio DXing, photography. In my spare time I like to work on my own projects. I enjoy playing around with the Linux kernel and getting it to run on various devices.

I also enjoy doing 3D and VFX work in Blender. I have been using Blender for a few years and is one of my favorite pieces of software ever. I use it for everything to do with media even including video and image editing (Yes blender can do that).

I have been programming since I was 12 years old. I started with Python. I now know many languages:

  • Python
  • C
  • C++
  • Java
  • JavaScript

  • Shell scripting
    • Bash
    • Batch

Current and future tinkering projects

Here are some of the things I am currently tinkering around with and want to tinker with in the future:

These projects involve modifying hardware and software to do things that they were not intended to do and figuring out how they work.

  • Plusnet Hub One
    • Hardware analysis (In progress)
    • Also have the hub two to compare
  • SeaBIOS (In progress)
  • OpenBIOS (Modifying and running in QEMU)
  • Custom Linux for the Raspberry Pi 4 (In process)
  • Custom PI Pico OS
  • SerneityOS (Building from source and modifying)
  • TI Nspire CX II (Trying to put Linux on it, in progress but difficult)

Hardware

I have a few devices that I use as my daily drivers and for testing. Here are some of the devices I have:

Computers

  • Macbook M3 Pro 14" (MacOS, Daily driver)
  • Razer blade 15 2021 (Fedora Linux, Daily driver)
  • Dell XPS 13 9380 2019 (Arch linux, Testing machine)
  • Surface Pro 4 (Fedora Linux, Testing machine)
  • Dell Latitude D610 (Ubuntu (Dont know the version), i386 Testing machine)

Raspberry Pi's

  • Raspberry Pi 5 8GB
  • Raspberry Pi 4 8GB
  • Raspberry Pi 4 4GB
  • Raspberry Pico
    • Pico display by Pimoroni

Other devices

  • Arduino Uno R3
  • Testing tools
    • Flipper Zero
    • Veepeak OBD2 scanner
  • Radios
    • ATS25X1
    • RTL-SDR V3
    • Baofeng UV-5RM Plus

Radio DXing

Just a little bit about my radio DXing hobby. I have been doing radio DXing for a few years now and I have a few radios that I use for this hobby. I mainly do amateur radio DXing and have picked many people up from around the world.

I have picked up people from

  • France
  • Germany
  • Italy
  • Spain
  • England
  • Finland
  • Switzerland
  • Canada (It even was a good signal)

I use a 2 meter dipole antenna which picks up signals very well. I mainly use the RTL-SDR V3. I also decode some signals (RTTY, Morse and FT-8). For my RTL-SDR I use SDR++ and for my decoding I use FLDIGI.
